Most living rooms have decent lighting. But decent isn't the same as impressive. When a homeowner wants a space that actually stops people in their tracks, the fixtures have to do more than just light the room - they have to become part of the room.
That's exactly what we were working with here. The goal was to bring a high-end, layered lighting design into this living room using crystal fixtures throughout. We installed a large crystal flush-mount chandelier on the ceiling as the main focal point, then added matching crystal wall sconces on either side of the TV wall to frame the space. The result is a room that feels warm and dramatic at the same time.
What makes this kind of fixture installation more involved than it sounds - proper placement matters a lot. The sconces had to be wired directly into the wall and positioned symmetrically to anchor the dark feature wall without competing with the TV. The ceiling chandelier needed to be centered and secured correctly given its weight and size. These aren't plug-in fixtures. Every piece required real electrical work done right.
Crystal fixtures are also unforgiving when it comes to installation quality. They catch and scatter light in every direction, which means any crooked mount or poor connection is going to show. Getting the hang right, the wiring clean, and the fit flush against the ceiling or wall is what separates a polished result from one that just looks off.
This is the kind of fixture work we genuinely enjoy. It's detailed, it has a clear visual payoff, and the homeowner gets a space that looks completely different from what they had before - without changing a single piece of furniture.
